Topic: Enabling Student Communication in EMI Classes: Some TESOL Tips

Abstract

In this workshop, I will offer helpful TESOL tips, or say teaching tactics or pedagogies, to teachers who are interested in empowering their students to communicate in EMI classes. All of the tips presented have theoretical foundation in the field of language instruction. In addition, empirical research has produced a substantial body of data in support of their pedagogical impacts on facilitating student communication in English. The participants of this workshop will gain hands-on experience with activities prepared in accordance with the tips. It is anticipated that the practical experience gained during the workshop will allow instructors to reflect on their teaching methods, make the necessary improvements on them, and prepare their students for EMI lessons.
